Diaper need is a really big issue nationwide and there aren’t too many places here in Hampden County people can go to get free diapers. We are proud to continue distributing diapers twice a month at Margaret’s Pantry in South Holyoke to 25-40 families per distribution. A family can receive 40-80 diapers a month from us depending on their number of children, which makes a considerable dent in their needs.
We hope to become a member of the National Diaper Bank Network this year, which would support our diaper advocacy work and allow us to purchase more diapers at a lower cost. Our recurring monthly donations (thank you donors!!) are not enough to sustain the cost of the diapers we buy at full cost at Target. Please consider becoming a monthly donor here to sustain this much needed program and help us to grow it. Just $25/month would support one child with diapers, and $50/month would support 2 or more children.
